How Buck Ridge Soap Handles Shipping and Returns

We answer most all shipping questions here on this page, everything from processing time, shipping time, shipping rates, local pickup, international orders and our discounts and refund and return policies are all detailed below. If you have a question we haven't answered here, contact us and we'll be glad to answer any and all questions...well, about our shipping and returns anyway, we aren't quite sure we can answer questions like are we living in a simulation or if there really were aliens at Roswell.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

Most retail and dropship orders ship out within 3 business days. Depending on the shipping method you selected, and your destination address, orders can take 3-7 business days to reach you after shipment from our workshop. So minimum is 3 to 4 business days from the day of order and maximum generally around 7 to 10 business days.

Our process

When you place an order, you'll receive a confirmation email with an estimated shipping window. You will receive another email with a tracking link once your order has had a shipping label generated. Once a label is generated it will generally ship that day or the next business day depending on time of day the shipping label was generated or if a freshly made item needs time to set (like a freshly poured candle) before shipment.

Are there things that might delay my order?

Please note that soap is made in batches and takes about six weeks to cure and reach the proper pH level to be sold. If something is marked sold out it will be back as soon as it finishes curing. If you order more than what we have on hand due to an inventory mishap we'll let you know by email. This is rare but happens once in a while if someone buys a large number of soaps in person or on another platform or marketplace we sell on that isn't connected to our inventory on our website. Again, we'll contact you to let you know of any delays. We fill all orders in the order they are received.

All other non-soap products are made at the time of order for the freshest product that hasn't been sitting on a shelf collecting dust for weeks or months. Because of this, occasionally it may take extra time to complete an order if it is particularly large or we are experiencing higher than normal order volume. Again, we will contact you in a case like this.

I'm hosting an event, can you help me with a large order?

Yes, if you are hosting an event where you want to give our soaps or other products out as favors or gifts we can do this. Please contact us for details and we'll be lad to discuss options, time frames and volume discounts. We can also offer special labeling for such events. We require prepayment and at least six weeks to fulfill event orders if we have to make soaps to fulfill it.

How can I check status, make modifications or cancel my order?

You'll receive a confirmation email when you first place your order with an estimated shipping window. In the event that you need to modify or cancel your order contact us immediately since we do our best to hand off packages to USPS within 3 business days or less. So any modifications or cancellations need to be made ASAP.

What are your shipping rates?

Our shipping rates are based on weight and calculated in the shopping cart using the USPS calculator. That said, we try to use the lowest possible price we can for all of our shipping and sometimes the calculator doesn't take into account the fact we might be able to fit more items in a smaller flat rate package. If we found a cheaper rate than the website provided, perhaps the order fit in a flat rate package that was cheaper, we will issue you a refund of the difference!

Very large and wholesale orders may ship via UPS instead of USPS because they might cost less. If this is the case, again we'll refund the difference.

This doesn't happen often but has happened a few times and rather than saying "hey, bonus!" we refund you.

I'm local to you, can I pick up in person?

Yes, you can pick up in person - choose local pick up when you place your order. We will email you when your order is ready and what time pick up is available in the workshop.

Our workshop is located in Springfield, Arkansas at 39 Dogwood Lane which is just off Rocky Road (Rocky Road is located between the Springfield Post Office and the red brick Welcome to Springfield sign at the Methodist church.) When you turn onto Dogwood Lane you'll see a sign at the Y, just follow it to Buck Ridge Soap Company. The workshop is at the top of the hill and clearly marked with our sign.

Why don't you offer free shipping?

Local pick up is free but all other is charged using USPS shipping rates. The thing with free shipping is it isn't really free. If you buy from another retailer who offers it, you can be certain you *are* paying for shipping. Usually a flat fee they add to the price of every product. Instead we offer exact weight based shipping rates so you pay *exactly* what it costs to ship your item. We do offer discount codes so in some cases you might end up with free or nearly free shipping.

You mentioned discounts in the previous answer...what are they?

Often you will see various discount codes or product sales or specials on the website. We also offer our retail customers military and loyalty discounts. Veterans and active duty military should contact us for a discount code. Loyalty discounts are given if you've ordered in the past. You will have gotten a coupon in your order that you can use on your next one.

We do not offer discounts to wholesale, private label or dropship customers. If you are a retail customer needing to make a large purchase for an event, please contact us for volume discounts based on your needs etc.

Do you ship international?

Some countries do not allow bath and body care products through customs and those won't appear in our shipping options. Countries that do allow bath and body care products through customs are shipped USPS based on weight of package calculated when you place your order. These rates are significantly higher than those provided to US customers and we do apologize for that but it isn't in our control. If we can work out a cheaper rate for you when we are packing your order we will issue you a refund of the difference just as we do on any order that we can save money on shipping for. Your order will also likely take you more time to receive and some tracking might not be reported once it leaves the United States. This again is out of our control.

What is your return/refund policy?

We’re confident that you’ll love our products, but if you’re unhappy for any reason, please reach out to us within 30 days of your purchase and we'll assist with processing the return, replacement and/or refund. Each case is different and will be decided once we speak with you about the issue and reason for return, replacement or refund.

An example might be that the package was damaged in transit so we might ask if you want a replacement or refund. Depending on the size of the order we might ask for a photo to submit for USPS insurance to refund shipping fees. 

Returns vary depending on type of order:

Retail orders:

Retail customers can contact us to discuss a return or refund/replace options within 30 days of purchase.

Dropship Orders:

Dropshipper should contact us for instructions.

Wholesale and Custom Orders:

Wholesale soap and bath, body, beard care or candle/tart orders are not eligible for return. Unauthorized returns will be refused and sent back to you at your expense.

Custom printed items

Custom Printed items are not eligible for returns so be sure that you are 100% happy with the proof that you signed off on for approval prior to the project going to print.
